Our mission

The Swedish Agency for Growth Policy Analysis (Growth Analysis) shall be responsible for providing the Government Offices of Sweden and other growth policy actors with evaluations and analyses and shall thereby contribute to:

• strengthened Swedish competitiveness and the creation of conditions for more jobs in more, growing companies, to thereby break exclusion on the labour market,
• developmental capacity in all parts of the country with strong local and regional competitiveness, sustainable growth and sustainable regional development.

The starting point is the formulation of a policy where growth and sustainable development go hand in hand in Sweden.

The primary mission is described in detail in the letter of instructions and the appropriation documents. These state that the agency shall:

• Meet the supporting documentation needs of the Government Offices of Sweden and the Ministry of Industry, Employment and Communication,
• Work with regional and global awareness and policy intelligence, and distribute knowledge about trends and growth policy,
• Conduct analyses and evaluations that contribute to removing obstacles to growth,
• Conduct system evaluations that make it easier to prioritise and improve the efficiency of work on growth policy emphasis and formulation,
• Manage the production, development and distribution of official statistics, fact-gathering from databases and accessibility analyses.

Growth Analysis works in three areas of expertise: (1) Entrepreneurship and Enterprise, (2) Accessibility and Regional Growth and (3) Innovation and Global Meeting Places, with offices in Sweden, the U.S., India, Japan, China and Belgium.

Together with the Department of Operational Development and Support, these three areas of expertise form a whole that shall jointly contribute to developing Swedish growth policy.
