This short report on Test Beds in health care in the United States and Canada has been commissioned by VINNOVA and in turn relates to a commission from the Swedish government to VINNOVA. The purpose of the report has been to describe any national strategies relating to test beds in health care as well as to describe good examples.

There are many good examples of valuable collaborations and cooperations within research, education and innovation between Sweden and India.

This report aims to analyze how these can be strengthened and developed further as well as how new one can be created.

The distance – geographically, culturally as well as with regard to organization – between Sweden and India can sometimes be large and the focus of this report is on the identification of gaps and how these could be bridged in the best way.

The Swedish regional venture capital fund endeavour formally began in 2009. At the time, conditions did not permit full operations. Through the funds’ own work and with constructive support from “the on-going evaluators” (Ramböll) and the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth (Tillväxtverket), the efforts have increasingly taken shape.

Knowledge and understanding of the regulations have grown, structures have been developed and the rate of investment has gathered speed.
