The department carries out analyses and evaluations in order to understand the state’s role and efforts to promote industry’s innovation activities and each stage of the innovation process.

The department also works with issues concerning industry’s green transition. Here, the department monitors and analyses industry’s environmental work and how the efforts to achieve environmental quality targets affect the development of industry. It also has particular responsibility for an environmental perspective being integrated into Growth Analysis’ work as a whole.
